Rebound Rituals: 50 Ways to Bounce Back After Breaking Up
Excerpt
Assemble an album of worthy males.
Before you start thinking all men are unworthy, create a visual reminder of the men you know who redeem their sex. Include brothers, fathers, nice ex-boyfriends, gay friends, co-workers, the Dalai Lama, movie star crushes, and so on. You can also list their best traits as a reminder of what to look for in your future boyfriend(s). Put their photos in either a small, flip-book-style album or on your computer in an electronic album. You might also want to get together with your favorite gal pals to create similar inspiration albums for each of you.
Smudge him out.
Native Americans understand the power of smudging, the time-honored practice of using sage smoke to cleanse, clarify, and shoo away foul spirits. Create your own Rebound Rod by tying twine (dental floss and shoelaces work in a pinch) around stalks of dried sage, or buy a premade sage stick at an herbal or New Age store. Now, light it and walk throughout your pad, making sure the therapeutic smoke hits areas where his energy might be lingering most (the bed, the remote, the toilet), as well as all corners of every room. Think pure thoughts for the future while it burns. Open all your windows wide to clear the smoke and let in fresh air.
